• 1992-93 – 4 Test matches – South Africa 1 and India 0
• 1996-97 – 3 Test matches – South Africa 2 and India 0 (India did well in the first test match in this series, however batters could not perform up to the task. But, in the 3^rd test match India was very close to winning but weather played a part in denying Indian cricket team a victory.
• 2001-02 – It was a 3 test match series but one of the test matches was not counted due to a huge controversy, this series India lost 1-0 but it was much closer fought series.
• 2006-07 – 3 Test matches – Indian cricket team had taken lead winning the first test match, and Indian cricket team was a better team but due to couple of bad sessions, Indian cricket team lost this series. Indian cricket team lost by 1-2.
• 2010-11 – 3 Test matches – The first drawn series and it was a very closely fought series and Indian cricket team came from behind after losing the first test and Indian cricket team denied series victory at home to the South African team.
• 2013 – 2 Test matches – Though Indian cricket team drew the first test match but lost the second test match quite convincingly. This was one of the weakest Indian cricket team of that time. Indian cricket team was never in the competition.
• 2017-18 – 3 Test matches – Indian cricket team should have won this series 3-0 however, they lost the series 2-1 to South Africa but Indian cricket team lost 2 test matches chasing moderate totals, which they should have chased easily.
• 2021-22 – 3 Test matches – Though the score line reads 2-1 Indian cricket team was in turmoil and it was a miracle that Indian cricket team could win even a single test match.
