The SA20 Auction’s top purchase for the 2025 season was Reeza Hendricks. MI Cape Town bought him for R4.3 million. Hendricks was the CSA’s T20 player of the year in addition to having played for the Johannesburg Super Kings in the past. In the most recent series against Ireland, he also scored two fifties. Cape Town was able to sign the star opener when Pretoria Capitals were eventually forced to run out of money in the purse.
Richard Gleeson, an English pacer, was the second-highest acquisition, costing Sunrisers Eastern Cape R2.3 million.
13 players in all were purchased during the auction. Six rookie choices, or South African players 22 years of age or younger, were selected by teams to complete their season-long rosters in addition to the purchases made during the auction.
