Kagiso Rabada Shines with Maiden Five-Wicket Haul in Asia
Kagiso Rabada delivered an exceptional performance, claiming his maiden five-wicket haul in Asia, which was also his third-best bowling figure in Test cricket. His impressive 6 for 46 played a pivotal role in South Africa’s seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first Test in Dhaka on October 24. This win marked South Africa’s first Test victory in Asia since 2014, highlighting Rabada’s crucial contribution to the team’s success.
Bangladesh began the fourth day at 283 for 7, but they quickly crumbled, losing their final three wickets for just 24 runs. Rabada struck early, dismissing Nayeem Hasan with a plumb LBW decision, which sealed his fifth wicket of the innings. Mehidy Hasan Miraz fought valiantly for Bangladesh, scoring a commendable 97, but his efforts weren’t enough to prevent a swift end to their innings.
South Africa Chases Down Target with Ease
Chasing a target of 106 runs, South Africa confidently completed their innings in just 22 overs, losing only three wickets in the process. Aiden Markram and Tony de Zorzi set a positive tone with their aggressive start, contributing to a 42-run opening partnership. Although Markram was dismissed for 20, de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs continued to build momentum, pushing the team closer to victory.

Rabada’s bowling heroics and the batsmen’s solid approach were instrumental in securing this significant win for the visitors.
