In the Kanpur Test between India and Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma produced an incredible display of fielding. On Monday in Kanpur, the captain of India dismissed Litton Das, the wicketkeeper-batter of Bangladesh, with a one-handed catch.
On Day 4 of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh at Green Park, Kanpur, skipper Rohit Sharma showed off his fielding prowess with an incredible one-handed catch. The enthusiastic audience on Monday morning applauded the impressive feat of acrobatics at short cover. When wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das hit the ball at a certain rate, Rohit timed his leap well and caught it.
Shubman Gill, who was ecstatic at his captain’s efforts, put his hands on his head in a gesture that mirrored the emotions of the crowd. Even Rohit appeared a little taken aback by his own effort when he sprang high and the ball got trapped in his palms.
Mohammed Siraj bowled a fuller-length delivery in the 50th over of Bangladesh’s innings. After stepping into bat on Monday, Litton Das attempted to be aggressive right away and attempted to clear the cover fielder. He did not, however, receive the required elevation. As the ball was in motion, Rohit executed a full-stretch jump.
As he celebrated an outstanding performance of fielding work that left Bangladesh reeling at 148 for 5, Rohit Sharma was surrounded by his teammates.
‘Bouncer trap’ for Litton Das was set by India, and it was a brilliantly played wicket. Siraj was predicted to trouble the wicketkeeper-batter by bowling short. Siraj, on the other hand, decided to play it close and bowed a longer delivery. Litton lost his wicket for 13 after he took a risky shot without hesitation.
Play resumed on Monday morning after rain on Saturday and Sunday had caused play to be abandoned, with Bangladesh losing three early wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah to start the Indian team’s innings. Bumrah delivered an exquisite delivery that pitched beyond the off-stump, seaming in and striking the upper part of the off-stump.
In what was likely his final Test match, Shakib Al Hasan was removed by R Ashwin, who came into the game late and took his second wicket of the day.In the first over of the day for the off-spinner, Shakib smashed Ashwin for a boundary over the covers. But the flight in the very next delivery tricked him, and he top-edged one into Siraj.
