England Bolsters Squad for West Indies Tour
England has announced the inclusion of leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed and wicketkeeper-batter Jordan Cox for their upcoming limited-overs tour of the West Indies. The squad is set to face the West Indies in a three-match ODI series followed by five T20 Internationals, starting with the first ODI in North Sound, Antigua, on October 31.
Rehan Ahmed is currently playing in the third Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi but will join the white-ball squad after the match concludes. However, he is likely to miss the opening ODI due to this schedule. Jordan Cox, also part of the Test squad but yet to make his ODI debut, will return to the UK on October 24 before rejoining the white-ball team.
Jordan Cox Eyes ODI Debut in the Caribbean
Cox, 24, has played two T20 Internationals but has yet to feature in ODIs. With Jos Buttler ruled out of the ODI series due to a calf injury, this presents a significant opportunity for Cox to make his 50-over debut. Phil Salt is expected to take on the wicketkeeping duties while Cox is likely to be utilized as a specialist batter.
