The second season of the six-team Zim Afro T10 league has welcomed direct signings from players such as David Warner, Asif Ali, Carlos Brathwaite and James Neesham. The franchises have finalized their icon and global superstars ahead of the draft, which will be held on September 8.
Each squad will have 15 players, with a 16th global icon added later. Six local Zimbabwe players will be part of each squad, and the icon and global star could also be from Zimbabwe. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Harare from September 21 to September 29.
Bulawayo Braves Jaguars have signed Warner and Brathwaite, whereas Cape Town Samp Army has acquired Dawid Malan, David Willey, Qais Ahmed and Gulbadin Naib. Colin Munro, Mark Chapman, and Yasir Shah went to Durban Wolves, and Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani joined New York Strikers Lagos.
Bangladeshi legspinner Rishad Hossain will play for Harare Bolts alongside Neesham and Dasun Shanaka. Rishad earned a contract with Hobart Hurricanes at the BBL draft after his impressive 14 wickets in the T20 World Cup.
