In the T20I series, Bangladesh will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto against India.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board, or BCB, just revealed their 15-player team for the impending T20I series against India. October 6 is when the show is scheduled to premiere. October 6, 9, and 12 will see three T20I between the two teams.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was called up by the selectors for the three-match series when the BCB revealed the roster. Despite being an important member of the ODI and Test squads, Miraz did not play in the national team’s shortest format, having played his final T20I match in July 2023.
In addition, left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan and opener Parvez Hossain Emon were called back to the team. Soumya Sarkar will also not be included in the team, along with Shakib Al Hasan.
Bangladesh, who lost the first Test of the current series and watched the second Test finish in a draw, will look to perform well in the shorter format under captain Najmul Hossain Shanto against India in the T20I series.
A prominent topic of discussion was Shakib Al Hasan’s absence from the team. Shakib’s retirement from Tests and T20I has already been confirmed by the veteran, and selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain has paid respect to him.
The legendary Shakib Al Hasan has already declared that this was his final T20I match for Bangladesh. We believe Mehidy Hasan Miraz is a capable middle order batsman, but we don’t have anyone to replace his experience and output. Mehidy is a capable batter. Ashraf stated, “We didn’t pick him in the previous [T20] World Cup because we usually feel that he has a strong role as an all-rounder in Tests and ODIs.”
