Young fast bowler Akash Deep of India described Jasprit Bumrah as a man who was created differently by God after reflecting on what he had learned from him.
Jasprit Bumrah has received immense acclaim from young fast bowler Akash Deep of India, who has referred to him as God’s precious kid. Notably, after making his return to international cricket in August 2023 following a back injury, Bumrah has been outstanding with the ball.
At Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, he took five wickets in two innings during the first Test match against Bangladesh, marking his 400th wicket in international cricket. Akash Deep recently shared his insights from training with Bumrah, noting how the Indian speed spearhead taught him how to bowl to a specific batsman.
I watch him bowl and we chat all the time. He is entirely different; God has made him different. Woh bilkul alag hain, bhagwan ne unhe alag hi banaya hai. I’ve learnt a lot from him and I take a lot of his advice. I asked him once about his thinking when bowling to a specific hitter, and we talked about “mindset.” He gave me insightful advice and addressed my question, Akash said.
Speaking ahead of time, Akash referred to Bumrah as a “gifted bowler” and said it would take an enormous amount of work to follow in his footsteps.
He is incredibly knowledgeable, and it shows in the way he bowls. He has incredible reading comprehension of batters before he bowls. He went on to say that it’s difficult to emulate his skill as a bowler because of his talent.
The incredible run of Bumrah in 2024
After his return to international cricket, Bumrah claimed 20 wickets to finish as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup 2023. In February 2024, he shot up to the top of the Test bowling rankings.

Bumrah will be crucial to India once more in the upcoming Test season, which is expected to be intense due to the significance of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
