Virat Kohli scored 93 runs in six innings
Star batter Virat Kohli has arrived in Perth as Team India gears up for the historic Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia, starting November 22. Kohli, along with his family, left India on Saturday evening and reached Perth on Sunday.
The departing lot of Indian players will do so in batches, with people like Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and so on who were on a flight on November 10, and other cricketers, including Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who left with the support staff on the morning of November 11.
Virat Kohli has arrived at Perth ahead of his time, staring in the face of home adversity, barring members already in Australia for India A games.
After he failed to make any significant runs in the home series against New Zealand, he is going to be hoping he gets back in his role as India heads for the important series which puts on the line a spot in the World Test Championship.
As Gautam Gambhir clarified, a win of 4-0 is needed for the Rohit Sharma-led side to stake their claim for the World Test Championship final; however, that is not of paramount importance to the team management, which is rather focusing on sealing the series in Down Under.
The first batch is already on its way, while a second batch will leave today, reported TOI.” Informed sources have it that training at Whacker will begin on Tuesday.
