IND vs. BAN: On Day 2 of the Chennai Test, former Bangladeshi batter Tamim Iqbal praised Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja’s masterclass in planning. Tamim claimed that the Indian pair had skillfully organized Litton Das’s dismissal.
On the second day of the first Test match in Chennai, Tamim Iqbal, a former batter for Bangladesh, praised the strategy used by Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja to dismiss Litton Das. On Friday, Day 2 of the Test match, India dominated Bangladesh by going through their batting order.
During the match, wicketkeeper-battler Litton Das and veteran Shakib Al Hasan demonstrated some resilience and combined for 51 runs off of 94 balls. After Litton Das produced a reckless slog against Ravindra Jadeja and was caught by Dhruv Jurel at deep mid-wicket, the partnership ended. Following the dismissal, Sharma was obviously overjoyed as he rejoiced with Jadeja.
During the tea break, Tamim Iqbal, the captain and bowler for India, praised the strategy, saying that Litton was invited by Rohit and Jadeja to force the error.
The sweep shot was incorrect. It’s not really essential. I believe it was evident that the spinners were applying pressure to Bangladeshi. However, I reasoned that playing that shot and the Shakib reverse-sweep was unnecessary. The pitch was making no headway. All you had to do was carry on with your percentage cricket. It wasn’t necessary to try too hard, and things were well up until Litton Das made his sweep shot. However, Tamim Iqbal stated on Jio Cinema, “I think it was a masterstroke from Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja.”
Before he executed the sweep shot, Litton Das had a short leg in place. The short leg had reached its limit. In other words, they had stopped the single to compel Litton to take that huge sweep shot. That’s precisely what took place. He said, “And you can see that there was a plan, and that plan worked out really well, on Rohit Sharma’s face.”
Bangladesh’s first innings saw them bowled out for a mere 149 runs. The team got into serious difficulties after they gave up a 227-run advantage. Jasprit Bumrah claimed four wickets, Mohammed Siraj, Jadeja, and Akash Deep each claimed two wickets.
