Bangladesh has made one change to their Test squad for the upcoming tour of India, following their historic 2-0 series win in Pakistan. Uncapped batter Jaker Ali has been called up to replace fast bowler Shoriful Islam. Shoriful suffered a groin injury during the first Test against Pakistan and was unable to play in the second match of the series.
In Shoriful’s absence, Bangladesh’s pace attack will feature Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Hasan Mahmud, and Khaled Ahmed. These bowlers will lead the charge as Bangladesh takes on India in the upcoming Test matches.
Jaker Ali, who is yet to make his debut in Test and ODI cricket, has represented Bangladesh in 17 T20I matches since his debut at the Asian Games in 2023. He brings experience from 49 first-class games, where he averages 41.47 with four centuries to his name.

Opening batter Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who missed the Pakistan Tests due to a groin niggle, retains his place in the squad for the India tour. However, Shadman Islam’s strong performance in the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi could see him secure his spot at the top alongside Zakir Hasan.
The opening Test match against India is set to commence on September 19 in Chennai, followed by the second Test, which will begin on September 27 in Kanpur. These matches are part of the World Test Championship cycle, with India currently leading the standings and Bangladesh sitting in fourth place.
