In one month, the T20 World Cup will kick off.
A 10-day skills camp at the NCA in Bengaluru is scheduled for the India Women’s squad in advance of the T20 World Cup, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates next month. On Tuesday, September 10, the camp will get underway under the direction of head coach Amol Muzumdar.
On Monday, the entire team as well as the reserves will be in Bengaluru. Yastika Bhatia and Shreyanka Patil, two players who were part of the 15-man roster due to their NCA fitness clearance, are also featured in this.
Shreyanka Patil, who had a finger fracture, and Yastika Bhatia, who has a knee issue, both passed their fitness tests and signed a release form to enter the camp.
Bhatia suffered a grade 1 PCL injury in her left knee after the first of five T20I series to be played in Bangladesh in March. She has been receiving treatment at the NCA ever since then. In contrast, Patil shattered her left hand in July during India’s opening Asia Cup match against Pakistan.
As part of their World Cup preparation, the team will also play two intra-squad games, which are expected to be played under lights. Except for their Group A encounter against Pakistan on October 7 in Dubai, the 2020 World Cup runners-up will play three of their four games indoors.
After the training, the players will take a quick four days off at home before regrouping in Mumbai to go for the United Arab Emirates on September 24.
The following players make up the India squad: Dayalan Hemalatha, Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Sajana Sajeevan, Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (wk), and Yastika Bhatia (wk).
